Bringing Hope

Join the Journey has been moving with the community of Titanyen since residents moved there in 2014 following several years in a post-earthquake tent village. During that summer, we helped the community build a local church. The church was withered and broken down, on the brink of collapse. While we don’t often strive to give ‘hand outs’ but rather ‘hand ups,’ we committed to rebuilding the Titanyen church–alongside the community as a way to empower them to uplift their own community. The church will serve as a community node for our micro-loan program and will truly be a light to those in the community.
Where now: We started the build in the summer of 2019 and spend the last half of the year working with our partners to lay foundation. The team put a cement flooring down just as 2019 came to a close.
Where going: We aim to finish the church in 2020, first putting up cinder block walls and then a roof. The project needs an estimated $7,500 more to finish. Please hit the donate button to breath life into this important project.

Partnered for Change

The Beginnings

Larry Simpson visited Haiti in 2018 and met with the pastor of the local church to cement our commitment there. You can see from this video the strength of our mutual relationship and the joy of the church. Below that is a video from 2014 when we initial built the church with wood.
